Our second Ethiopian coffee of the year is rocking. Floral, tea-like and sweet, but with a malty finish.
From our friends at Osito:
'Abdo Aba Mecha ventured into the coffee export scene four years ago, inheriting a sprawling 30 hectare estate in Illbu Kebele, nestled within the scenic Gomma Woreda. His commitment to excellence shines through in his meticulous approach to washed coffee processing, capitalizing on his farm's elevation and the 74110 coffee variety for outstanding quality.
In processing, Abdo's attention to detail is unmatched.
For washed processing, only the ripest cherries undergo a meticulous examination before being hand-pulped in the evening. Following careful washing the next morning, the coffee is shielded from the direct sunlight on pre-drying tables in the afternoon, parchment coffee is transferred to raised beds, where it dries for approximately 14 days, reaching the ideal moisture content of 10.5%.
Beyond coffee, Abdo is a devoted father of four, finding solace in quality time with his children. His passion for football, particularly the Premier League and his beloved Arsenal, is evident."
